THE EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND (EPF) TALK FOR MYTC STAFF

The staffs of MYTC were briefed by Janaith Lee of KWSP, Kota Kinabalu on 19 June which is a follow-up session of EPF Talk for Montfort trainees last month. Among other topics, the talk covered the importance of financial saving and online facility to manage individual KWSP account.

ANNIVERSARY BLESSINGS OF ST. PAUL'S CHAPEL ON-THE-HILL

Montfort Youth Training Centre (MYTC) celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the St Paul’s Chapel On-the-hill on 2 July 2017. The Eucharistic celebration for the blessing of the Chapel presided by Rev Archbishop Datuk John Wong and the celebration concluded with a fellowship dinner with the VIPs and special guests as well as Staff and Trainees of MYTC.

11TH MONTFORT CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 11th Montfort Charity Golf 2017 was held on 15 July at the Sabah Golf & Country Club (SGCC). In his welcome speech, Brother Francis Xavier Gasper, Director of MYTC thanked the organising Committee Members led by Y. Bhg. Datuk Henry Goh and special sponsors from the Industry for their support and sponsorships. The Montfort Chairman, H.E. Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok and member of the BOG, Datuk Margaret Fung were also present to support the event. This year’s Challenge Trophy was won by Roeshan Krishnamorthi from Kuala Lumpur.

SABAH THEOLOLIGICAL SEMINARY VISIT

As part of an introduction to various religious entities in Sabah which cater to the poor and underprivileged, Pastor Tai Fui Fong led a group of the seminarians from the Sabah Theological Seminary to visit MYTC on 21 July. They were briefed on MYTC activities and the practical training its offered.

AN ENRICHING ANNUAL CAMP AT KUALA PENYU

MYTC annual camp was held on 28th to 30th July in Kuala Penyu. The objective of an annual camp was organised to allow the trainees to enhance bonding and to build good relationship with all the staff as one Montfortian family. Both junior and senior trainees participated in the camp.

12TH OPEN HOUSE CARNIVAL 2017

MYTC Annual Open House carnival held on 10 September 2017 has brought together once again friends of Montfort, Staff and Trainees to work together to raise funds for the Sustenance of our residential care programme. At the press conference, Datuk Margaret Fung, Chairperson of the Open House Carnival and a member of BOG expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Datuk Susan Wong, Managing Director of WSG development and Mega Sunwise for her constant financial support. Many attractions and special appearances had been organised for children and elderly alike to make the Open House a big success.

MYTC STAFF RETREAT

An annual Staff Retreat themed “Christ’s Collaborators – Called, Chosen & Commissioned” was held on 18 to 16 September 2017 at the Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre. The retreat was headed by Martin Jalleh, a full-time Youth Ministry Formatter and was attended by 40 MYTC staffs. The objective of the retreat was to empower the staffs to serve effectively in MYTC as a cohesive team members which dwelt on growth and spiritual maturity as one family in Montfort. Jalleh also held 2-day session with MYTC Senior Trainees to encourage and strengthen them in their faith journey.

ADVENT CHOIR & CAROLLING

During the season of Advent, the Montfort trainees spread the good news of the Lord by bringing Christmas Carols to some reputable establishments in the city and homes of Friends of Montfort. Volunteer Derek, Rex, Jon and Shirley guided and coached the trainees.

CHRISTMAS PARTY & STAFF APPRECIATION DINNER

MYTC celebrated both Christmas Party and Staff Appreciation Dinner on 15 and 17 December 2017 respectively. The Christmas party was attended by the family members of MYTC staff and trainees. The Staff Appreciation Dinner was jointly sponsored by member of the Board of Governors and organised for the purpose to appreciate the dedication and hard work of MYTC staff. An encouraging speech was delivered by Joseph Tek, a representative of the members of the MYTC Board of Governors.
